Design patterns play a significant part in the interactive design process. Each pattern is a representation and estimation of the arrangement of how the physical environment of the interactive will work to solve any problems presented. In other words, patterns are designed to provide solutions. When designing an interaction, whether it be a website or application, it is highly recommended that designers make the interactive suitable for mobile first. This is because it is more effective and allows for a foundation to be built, enabling the designer to build upwards and onwards.
It is important for a designer to take into consideration the way in which the user will use the interface, when designing an interactive. The design needs to be functional and easy to use. This is why UI pattern proliferation is used. Below are some examples.
