When people talk about interactive design, they are more than often referring to a website or an application. Interactive design can be defined simply as the relation between products and its users. Interactive design is there to support and enable its users to complete their desired objectives at the ease of a button. William “Bill” Lawrence Verplank is a designer/researcher who often focuses on the interaction between people and computers. He asks 3 foundational questions in order to get a better understanding of what the people want/need. He looks into the way the interactive would affect the world and the type of feedback he would receive in return.

Interactivity is the process of two people or things working together to influence each other. In the case of design, the it refers to the communication process that takes place between a human and a computer. They work together to ensure that the total effect is greater than the sum.
